Red & Black Bandhani Lehenga with Paisley Border

Red and black panels alternate the whole way round, each printed in bandhani dots — tight grids on the black, open flower clusters on the red. Toward the hem the pattern gives way to large cream paisleys, one to a panel, with small dotted diamonds set between them. The choli is red bandhani with elbow sleeves, and a black bandhani dupatta bordered in red is worn with it.

Red and black, dot by dot — the most traditional pairing there is, and still the one that stands out.
